Hello there!
My name is Jennifer Ohn and I am a first-year Advertising major at the University of Texas at Austin.
This semester, I opted to take RTF 305: An Introduction to Media Studies course in order to adapt and familiarize myself with the modern “markets” of radio, television, and film. Being far from technologically savvy, I must face reality and face the fact that media now is influenced the most by technological innovation and digitalization. This is my very first blog post. I find myself in the midst of the “digital generation”, a generation where it seems that technology has been imbedded into our genetic coding. It is odd to think that Facebook, at some point, did not exist. I am hoping that through this course, I will gain knowledge in order to appeal, influence and, ultimately, shape popular culture.
